Juan C.and Maria Margarita were married September 27, 1788 in San Lorenzo de Picuris, NM. Oral family history says both Juan C. and Maria Margarita were born in Spain. This has been increasingly debunked, at least for Juan Cristoval due to the unearthing of his parent's New Mexico marriage record. No birth record have been found for Juan Cristoval or Margarita at this writing.

The children of Juan Cristoval Sanches (born abt.1768 or 1764 Picuris-Penasco, New Mexico-died January 25,1821 in Taos, NM) and Maria Margarita Silva (born possibly in New Mexico)  are:

• Maria de la Lus Sanches (born abt.1792)

• Maria Carmen Sanches (born 1800 in Picuris (christened 10/19/1800))

• Jose Rafael Sanches (born November 09, 1803 in Santa Fe)

• Maria Josefa Sanches (born April 01, 1807 in Picuris)

• Juan Matias Sanchez (born 1808 in New Mexico-died November 11, 1885 in Montebello, CA)

• Juan Timoteo Sanches (born february 02, 1810 in Picuris)
